Dr. Brown --- PhD in what??

How are we supposed to believe she's educated? Her grammar is deplorable and she's completely ghetto. Terrible casting/ignorant writing.

reply

She is from a background where that is the language she grew up with and she reverts to it a lot. Many people do that because they feel it's who they are, or were, and they feel a bit phony and stuffy when they clean up their grammar. She knows full well it's improper English.

As an educator she really should avoid it, though. I assume her PhD is in Education.

Did you only watch the scene where she got really drunk, and nothing else from the entire season? You're sounding rather dumb, here.

She didn't just use it when she was drunk. She reverts to it a lot. Like when she took over the football rally in the gym.

reply

Yea, but so what? When she wants to be, she's well-spoken. She picks her spots, depending on the audience and the setting. Pretty normal stuff, really.

Right, I agree, I'm just saying it didn't come out just that one time when she was drunk.

Education. LOL

I don't think they said, but it would be likely that it's in education. In getting an education degree you learn how to teach, the history of education, education theory, etc., not necessarily a subject. She reverts to ebonics she grew up with when she wants be "real" and show her street cred. Great character!

reply

You obviously haven't been around educated minorities who have worked very hard to improve their lives.

reply

I teach at a school, my principal has a PhD in music, go figure.

reply

My guess would be administration
