Terrible Script (SPOILERS)

This could have been a really good setup. I cannot believe how bad this movie was.

The movie starts out with a great premise. A man is hired as a security guard, his sole purpose is to watch a door. That's it. He's supposed to watch a door and make sure nothing gets out. He's not told what's in there. And two other guards show up to deliver something. He's only told that if they are not out within a minute, he is to keep the door shut no matter what he hears. They get out in time, but one of them is looking like he was attacked by something. They leave without telling the guy what was in there.

So this was a perfect setup for what could have been a great horror movie, instead, it goes straight down the toilet from there.

The guy's friends show up to visit him at his new job. One of them stupidly steals the door key and disappears inside. Most of the movie is the guy and his friends trying to find their missing friend.

They all appear to start hallucinating. There really didn't seem to be anything supernatural going on. Most of them die because of the hallucinations. And the characters were so stupid, there was nothing redeeming about them. Too stupid to live.

It's not a monster or supernatural movie as far as I could tell. Maybe there's some toxin in the building causing the hallucinations. But it was never explained. This should have been a monster in the dark movie. Instead, it just plain sucked.

i totally agree, it started out with an interesting idea, but then it just seemed as if the writers had no idea where to take it, i actually watched right to the end because i was curious to see what was behind the door, i wish i hadn't bothered :-/

HI,great set-up wasted opportunity, i thought behind the door would be a portal to hell or prison for aliens or an off world secret project but just an hour of trudging round dark tunnels and an unexplained ending.

I agree with you 100%. The movie started off so interesting in the first 20 minutes or so and because it felt like it was going to be a great horror movie I rang and told my friends about it but very soon when the story suddenly started spiralling downwards I realised I have to now apologise to my friends for wasting their time.

I thought it was very intriguing at the beginning, but it kind of fizzled out after awhile.

I can forgive the low budget acting and set, but I can't forgive never really getting to find out what was really* happening behind the door. Where the voices were coming from. Had they went into it a little more, Id've liked it more. I also liked the ending though I saw it coming as soon as they went in.

I'd say 5.5/10 if you like this kind of strange horror, 3.5/10 if you don't.

The Door itself was a door to heel. When I watched this movie it reminded me of Gates of Hell , house by the cemetery style movie. I am not going to try to make you like it. I know I did . But that is my opinion .

I couldn't agree more.

As soon as his friends arrived and Mia went inside ( can't be more than 2 or 3 minutes ) the whole thing just died. it became another stupid Teens do stupid things Film.

For me they could've had a fantastic Horror had he turned his friends away, informing them he was awaiting relief and he'd be out in an Hour or two, then have the Film about him and his mind. What was behind the door? Why has he not to open it? Why had he to lock the Security Guards in if they didn't get out in One Minute?

This Film could've screwed with the viewers head. It could've had us in the head of the Protagonist asking the same Questions, finding the same Answers or finding none. It could've gone down a whole new route. The Mugger could still have been involved, finding his way to the door and attempting to get out, shouting for help, banging the door, pleading to be let out. How would the Protagonist react to that? How would the viewer react? Should he open it? Should he phone his Boss and tell him someone or something is trying to get out? Why all the secrecy about whats behind there? Why the Gun if nothing is truly behind there? why pay $500 a night for someone to sit at a desk and watch a door? These questions could've been battering through his head all shift, increasing tension in the Film and increasing His Paranoia and ours. Unanswered Questions can be torturous and for me the makers of this Film missed out on a fantastic opportunity for a great phsychological Horror Film.

Nothing is Black and White. Even Black and White are only extreme shades of Grey.
