Why would Mac a Brady not have met

Mac said if they disappear why do Mac and Brady not meet. How dose that gave anything to do with them meeting. Please explain.

They met because of both seeing their favorite movie at the same outing. If the movie ceased to exist, then it would never have existed, they would not have met because it would not have been shown.

But it IS possible they could have met in an entirely different way but it wasn't as likely when you see how different their social circles were once they started school.

Where did it say the met at a screening of that movie. I must have miss that in the first one. But when did they say that.

Edit: I went back and watched the beginning of this movie and it is in the 1st minute, he leads her blindfolded to the exact spot they met 3 months earlier, he said he was watching his favorite movie "Wet Side Story" on his tablet when she walked by and supposedly that was the catalyst for their meeting and getting to know each other.

So it wasn't actually an "outing" but it was his watching that movie on his tablet.
