I think it would be very interesting, as it would be another test for Gus for it not being "traditional" for a Greek marriage. But on the other hand, it would be a risk because not everyone is for gay marriage.

Indeed. But you're right, it would be too much of a risk for the filmmakers to take.

It would be Interesting to see how a gay wedding would be handled.

Maybe in another 30 years when people are more evolved.

It will hopefully be cured by then. If not, the Muslim explosion will take care of the problem.

Joey Fagone to the rescue!

I wonder if they tried to get Lance Bass to play his partner.

reply

Are you Greek? If you were you would know the answer. Too many Yia Yia's (grandmother) would faint, lots of spitting going on at that wedding and it couldn't happen in a Greek church.

Now if there was, my cousin could play one of the partners.

haha. So many shows have gay characters now, they might as well jump on the trend. That can be the next installment. Paris will come out as a lesbian and it wont go down well with the family, so she elopes with her girlfriend to get married, but the family find out where and gatecrash it to throw another big fat wedding.

Wow ... I sense lots of age-old cornish humor over the gay community here. Direct sarcasm or not.

I personally don't recall anything remotely hinted that cousin Angelo was supposed to be gay. Heck, an earlier post stated or suggested that Toula's brother Nick was. Funny, because nothing was hinted there... and obviously Nick is a straight family man.

Don't know what it is with some movie fans. But usually always the gay slam-humor thing. Television has been saturated with the acceptance and salute of gay characters for years now. But yet somehow movies are supposed to be held on a slightly higher scale. I don't quite get that...

So what if Paris came out as Lesbo or bisexual in this sequel. Sure it may have shocked the Portakoulis family.. same as Toula marrying a non-Greek. But I guess that's expected within family roots absent of diversity.

Interesting that you see someone pointing out the trend in LGBT in the media industry as being homophobe. If someone talks about the upward trend in dow jones, are they an anti capitalist or if they talk about the trend with comic book movies are they anti youth, or if they talk about trend with immigration & refugees trying to get into better countries are they racist or if they talk mention the trend in women & hookup culture are they a prude or misogynist. For sure people online will paint them that way and try shame them.

For the brother! Isn't he gay?
