What is with the new gotta have a gay character in almost every movie produced? Oh and of course they had to pick the least gay character from the first movie although I have to admit it does explain why he had a big ass girlfriend in the first movie. Are we really expected to believe the same family that wigged out about Tula marring an exceno and is so archaic that they believe women should marry young and then treat their who ha's like a baby production line don't so much at blink at the thought that he is gay? I mean come on!

You must not be Greek.

The Greeks essentially invented the gay. See: Socrates and Plato.

It's actually reasonably believable.

Not to mention they are keeping up with current times. One out of two families have a gay family member. Even if you don't know it.

It's simple math, stupid. It's actually closer to a gay in every family. One out of every twenty people are gay (5% of the population) so if that means you have twenty people in your family and extended family, odds are that one is gay.

Reality? Reality check, please.

Where on earth did you get your 'real' statistics? I'd like to see the study, the number of participants, and who funded the study. Seriously.

Gee, maybe I've forgotten but I honestly don't believe there was a question on even the last census like, "how many of your family members are gay?"

I suppose in the future I can expect to see, "what is your race?" Check one of the following: White, Black, Brown, Asian, Indian, Gay, Other.

I'd be more interested in seeing the statistics to back up the OP's claim that almost every movie produced has a gay character. I'd say around 1% of movies have a gay character, yet for it to be true that there's "a gay character in almost every movie produced," there should be gay characters in >90% of movies.

Are YOU Greek? The mom would maaaybe be "ok" with this, but the dad would at least hang himself. Greeks are very "non gay". They won't hurt the gays, but the families don't easily accept them either. And a family like Toula's? Oh my.

The only audience who have a chance of enjoying this movie are Greeks over the age of 55.

If you don't fall in that demographic, don't waste your time...it'll be beyond awful for you (like it was for me).

Maybe there are gays in movies because there are gays in the population. i believe yours are ridiculous comments. It's a movie. You sound very tolerant...lol

Since the Daughter is about to go off to College, approx. 18 years have passed since the main story of the first movie took place (the daughter was 6 in the Epilogue - so 12 from the end), lots of things change in 18 years.

The bigger question is why does it bother you so much that there is a gay character in "every" (modern) movie?

There is a straight character in EVERY modern movie. What's the difference if there is a gay one too?

So your concern about a comedy that there is a gay man in the family?

You not even get the message. Is that even if they think they are a super family, direct descendants of Alexander the Great, that they want Greek girls to find Greek males, they not condemn a family who has other Greek values...

Not like YOU. Especially as this matter was discrete, not invading at all, and no fun was made of this situation.

Open up your minds, and the world will look much brighter.
