Hollywood has to take a decent movie and add their modern, liberal agenda to it with the addition of the gay character. People are getting sick and tired of this agenda being forced on them everywhere you turn.

However, in this case, Vardalos is sharing a real experience from her family. It's her family story and her life on screen so she should be allowed to tell it the way she wants to.

I think the issue here is the gay character didn't have a storyline. It was just kind of "shoved-in" there, and there was no relevancy to the plot, and they're was no story arc, and it wasn't developed.
They added a gay character to simply add a gay character to pander to an audience. And it fell flat.

I remember a brief passing mention that a minor character had a partner, and then that partner met and said hello to his boyfriend's family at the wedding. The storyline took up less than a minute of screen time. I honestly had forgotten that small element until reading your post. If after seeing this movie, a gay agenda is what you got from it, you may need to seek treatment from a professional.

There was nothing insulting in my initial post. I made the post to have an intelligent conversation with mature adults, there was no name-calling in it whatsoever. If you somehow found that insulting...then wow...I don't know what to say other than you got to get out more into the real world. It's a big scary world out there, with people who have beliefs different than yours, I know you find that "racist, homophobic, bigoted", or whatever other labels that are the popular fad right now, however it's the world you live in.
