this is awful.

Worst movie and disappointment ever.

reply

Couldn't agree more!!

reply

Yep. Very bad.

reply

Beyond awful.

reply

Awful is right. I got on to say it should have been called "Bobby" but I see it's been said many times now.

reply

Agreed

reply

This was a Lifetime movie so I expected nothing less of awful.

reply

You clearly havent watched enough movies then at all. It was not that bad at all. What was so awful? The girl that played Whitney did a great job, the singing by Deborah Cox in the music scenes was fantastic. The main point of the movie was to show her relationship with Bobby and some of her ups and down and that's exactly what they did. People just like to critique absolutely everything like they knew these celebrities personally and knew their life when really they know nothing but what they have heard in the media.

reply

Bless your heart for saying this lol thank you.

reply

Have to agree with you, viciouslove. As Lifetime movies go, this wasn't that bad. Even without family support, they pulled off a decent movie. Angela Bassett did a great job of blocking scenes and directing our focus. Yaya chewed on the scenery a bit - LOL! - but she can act. Sex scenes WERE racy, but that's cable television for you, and even Lifetime's getting in the game. No one blinks an eye when HBO, Showtime, USA, et al, run their steamy stuff full of sex and profanity late at night, THEN turn around and run it uncut and unedited at 9 AM on any given morning of the week when even more children are in front of the television. (The true definition of an "awful" movie was the nightmare biopic for Aaliyah. There wasn't anything good about that movie and I hope they never run it again. LOL!) However, we cannot have it both ways. We can't complain about the lack of black programming and nit pick everything apart. "With This Ring" looks very good and I'm looking forward to it. I hope comments, in general, are more positive.

reply

They ran the Aaliyah movie today. Lol

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What you may find as a great movie with excellent acting others might find dreadful. No reason to bash people on here for disagreeing with you. I give the movie 3/10 so I would say that the movie is BAD, not awful. I thought the screenplay was bad, the acting was bad, the wardrobes were cheap, and the movie did not live up to it's title. Perhaps the movie should have been called "Whitney & Bobby."

reply

Jistar123 I agree almost 100%, except I thought the movie was awful. Bad writing, bad directing, bad acting, bad costume, everything. Only thing good was Deborah Cox's singing.

reply

I agree with you on certain points. I think that it was mainly focused on Bobbys life, and their relationship. It wasnt bleeding obviously a biopic, which shouldve had been more fair, especially concerning with the title of the film. I might also add on a side note, its a lifetime movie that contains a short 88mins,so no high expectations from that. Thats why I agree with Houstons family it shouldve been a more high budget, life in depth from "cradle to grave" type of biopic, and with nonetheless secured rights to whitney houston music which wouldve been amazingly awesome. But whats done is done...

reply

And you don't know them personally either. The movie was titled, WHITNEY, which means we should have seen MORE about HER life. Not Bobby Brown. If this movie was to be about their relationship, then it should've been called, "Whitney & Bobby."

reply

Awful is right. Yaya Dacosta played a boring, stiff, whiny Whitney. Bobby was an effin boy scout. NO DETAIL at all about Whitney's rise to fame BEFORE Bobby. Piece of junk, worthless movie.

reply

That what I wanted to know! Why not focus on the time before Bobby when she rose to fame?!

Why does the movie START with her meeting Bobby?!

I feel Angela wronged Whitney's memory.

reply

Was disappointing :( what happened?

reply

A hot mess
