Gotham star David Mazouz wants an Arrow-verse crossover

David Mazouz thinks that Gotham and The Flash should meet. The young star recently revealed to Movie Pilot that he would love to see a crossover between Gotham and the Arrow-verse, and he thinks that Barry Allen's time-traveling powers would make it possible.

"The biggest obstacle before The Flash came out, when it was just Arrow, was that Gotham is set in the past and Arrow was set in the present," Mazouz said. "However, now that we know time travel was not only introduced, but widely used in the [Arrow-verse] with Legends of Tomorrow and The Flash, it's very plausible that a crossover could happen, because they could come back in time and visit Gotham. I would totally support it. I'm a huge fan. I think that would be awesome."

While Mazouz does present a reasonable plan, there are quite a few things standing in the way of a Gotham and Arrow-verse crossover. While they are all DC shows, the Arrow-verse airs on The CW, which is owned by CBS, while Gotham airs on Fox. Although a crossover between Supergirl and The Flash was permitted while the show was still on CBS, it's unlikely that two completely separate networks would want to do a crossover and promote the competition. Still, a crossover would probably be a huge ratings boon for both shows, so anything is possible.

If he can't join the Arrow-verse, Mazouz has one idea of another character he'd definitely like his young Bruce Wayne to interact with: a young Clark Kent. The actor cited the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice set-up, in which Gotham and Metropolis are right across the bay from each other, as a reason why the crossover could happen, saying that Clark could just take a boat over to interact with the young Bruce.

"I'm sure it would obviously be a nightmare with licensing and such– which is really annoying, I don't know why they can't just let us have our fun– but I think that could be a really cool interaction between the two of them and m

It would be interesting if they could, as let's face it in the comics with all the retcons they kind of did mess with the timeline, as in Batman came out in 1939, while Green Arrow in 1941 and of course:

*Bruce was also trained in archery by Oliver Queen. His knowledge of so many varied disciplines has made Wayne an unconventional and unpredictable individual. At age 20, he attempted to join the FBI, but after learning about its regulations and conduct, Wayne deducted that he would never be able to completely oppose crime while working within the legal system.

*Happened in 1999 in Robin Vol 4 #70

Seeing that it appears they have dropped the Nolan verse backstory of Bruce training with Ra's al Ghul, there is scope for that Oliver Queen training to happen.
