It looks like Bruce is being trained for something, will his role increase in Gotham?

That monk-like man seems to think Bruce will be an important part of saving Gotham.

Any ideas or speculation of where that part of this story might go?

I think he was traumatized by his parents' murder. Hard to predict how it might affect him.
