West coast votes though.. who even understands?

So from my understanding West Coast views the recorded episode filmed two hours before so even if they're voting.. the vote they're seeing is that of the East Coast.. and if they voted an eliminated East Coaster to above 70%, they still see them getting eliminated?

i wish they would explain this more lol

I have Comcast so I can go on OnDemand and watch the episodes there and what I noticed was that they upload the West Coast version of the show. Basically it's a rebroadcast of the east coast version but with a West Coast meter bar next to the east coast one and 2 little boxes in the corner to show the icons of the west coast "judges". The only difference is when the west coast saves someone. Last night they saved 2 people and as soon as the taped performance was over they went live to the backroom where the singer, her friends, and Josh Groban were at and they showed that for like 30-60 seconds then just went back to what the judges said on the west coast. Which was a little weird because the majority of what they said was "I really hope the west coast saves you, they need to save you" and by this time we already know they did. The format improved a lot since the first week, but I wouldn't be surprised to see like the judges film new segments or something for next week's west coast show.

Well, during the west coast rebroadcast, all three judges (along with host Josh Groban) could still stick around for a "live reaction" if a contestant was saved by the west coast votes.

So it shows then not getting 70% and the wall not rising but they cut live to them backstage?

Also, do the votes even matter for the ones that made it already? The West Coast sees that they're already at 70% and made it through?

No the votes can only save people who were eliminated. Basically they need 70% on either coast.

They only show the people who didn't get 70% on the east coast, but were able to get the 70% on the west coast in the backstage. For the people who didn't make it on either coast the west coast just sees exactly what the east coast saw (the whole judges saying how sorry they are or saying how terrible they were).

If someone made it on the east coast the votes for them don't matter at all on the west, but the way it works is that the people on the west coast don't know or realize the percentage yet, like the two bars are side by side and the east coast raises like how it does during the live taping and the west coast rises in real time (so like both are rising at the same time on the west coast episode)
