Revenge of the Sith was the best of them all? By far?

Did you optometrist prescribe those rose-coloured glasses?

Star Wars started taking little hits right out the gate. '78 saw the release of the Star Wars Holiday Special, which signified a certain amount of selling out Lucas was prepared to do. He backpeddaled that, but started making plushy toy-friendly decisions by the end of the first (best) trilogy.

Then came the cash-grab Special Editions, the divisive Prequels, the rotten Clone Wars movie, and Star Wars 3D.

From a certain point of view, Star Wars has just been accelerating into a nosedive at exponential speed.

You take it seriously enough to pump this "Isn't it sad what has become of this once respectable franchise in JUST THE LAST 10 YEARS?" message on multiple boards, so...I'd say that's about where I am: nothing on these boards will affect my daily life, I'm not nuts, but I love the movies, and these things are great. Well...some of them. So I'm not sure who you mean by "certain other people". We're all here to talk geek talk on the message boards.

The only difference here is that I'm a big fan of the original three movies and I thought the next ones bungled it up, made some poor story choices, and aside from flashy visuals, didn't have a lot going for them (and the visuals were CGI, anyway).
