I was rooting for Samuel...

Yeah, wasn't a huge fan of either love interests... The romance with Josh was a bit rushed and underwhelming. The character wasn't that great or memorable, I mean, I wouldn't date him. I kinda like Jesse McCartney but I couldn't stop staring at his brows, they're like two shades darker than his hair and almost like they were drawn on thickly with a sharpie, and by someone who was definitely not an artist. Ok, that just might me knitpicking.

As for Samuel... Yeah, I felt for him. Imagine if the person you knew you were gonna marry since childhood, someone you knew all of your life, left you for a month and kept in little contact with you, and then came back disconnected to you, only to find out they dated someone one else and not only that, but got pregnant by that person (or got them pregnant). Instead of ending things right then and there, you decide to marry them anyway to cover for all of their sins and then they leave you again for that person. I think anyone would be crushed.

Glad I wasn't the only one! He actually had a future and was willing to be a faithful provider and what's so bad about that?! Meanwhile the other kid (who looked about twelve!) had 0% of his sh*t together! When she was walking up to him (after WALKING from Pennsylvania apparently!) I desperately wanted her to say, "what are we gonna do about health insurance and prenatal care?"

Huh? Samuel was the pushy one, putting all kinds of expectations on Hannah. He would have made an overbearing, controlling husband, where Josh was more free-spirited and encouraged Hannah to do whatever she wanted.

I don't get where you got the opposite impression; that amazes me.

That said, the movie was absurdly inaccurate, and did not reflect the Amish culture properly. You have to just give in to suspension of disbelief and go with the plot to enjoy it at all.
