why are the zombies massing on the bridge for no reason?

It make zero sense, the jeep was suppose to block the hole but it actually make the matter worse?

reply

Agree. Plot only. There was nothing to draw them to that spot.

reply

Even before the Jeep was the metal roofing panels they put up and that also seemed to attract more walkers for some reason. Like ants, maybe walkers can now leave a scented trail for other walkers to follow. That would also explain why the walkers, despite floating downriver for quite a distance, only came onshore exactly where the cabin was.

As others have said before, the walkers are nothing more than minor annoyances anymore.

There was a zombie stuck in the car in the water making a bit of a noise which was attracting them. It was shown for 5 seconds or so to show why the zombies were congregating at that spot.

What I found weirder was they put machete zombie inside the Jeep. WTF? He was only hanging in the window and now he's sitting in the driver seat with a wrist resting on the wheel...

reply

No. The zombie was dead, way before. . .remember?

Plot convenience. That is all.

reply

No. It was definitely alive. I don't recall if it was audible/visible when they canoed up to it but prior the Jeep rolling away, the camera lingered on the car in the water for around 5 seconds showing a zombie in there moving around and making a noise.

reply

Watch it again.

If you recall, machete-chest-zombie was the last one to attack Naomi & John. Naomi was screaming at John to shoot it, John steadfastly refused, and finally was able to stab it.
Then he went a little nuts on it, savagely hacking it again and again, leading to the scene where N & J are back at his house, cleaning off the zombie-bits, and her finally finding out why he's so anti-gun.

Zombie was DEFINITELY dead already.

EDIT: Just reread your comments, and realized we're talking about two different zombies. Carry on ;)

Egregious overreliance on diabolus ex machina will drag this show down to TWD level in short order.

reply

I just figured that along with wanting to eat people, the zombie virus also makes you hate Jeeps? That's why they just gathered around the jeep all agitated like and started pushing on it instead of following the path of least resistance and continuing on along the bridge.

reply

Agreed, very foolish writing here. The walkers would never be able to move that locked in park vehicle, and they most certainly would not do a bee-line directly towards the one gap in the bridge for no valid reason.

reply

Machete zombie fell a bit and knocked the gear lever. I'm not familiar with US manuals with the gear lever sticking out of the steering column but it appears it got knocked from park to drive allowing it to roll. With enough zombies it would be pretty easy to move it on the flat like that.

They were congregating at that point as they were attracted by the zombie making a bit of noise stuck in the crashed car in the water.

reply

and they all fell into the river and got out at the exact same spot at the exact same time?

reply

Maybe they felt dirty and wanted to go swimming to clean up?

lol

I'm liking the season so far, but the logic of some of this stuff is lacking.

reply

> It make zero sense

Typical of Walking Dead shows ... all of them.
Nothing that happens and nothing the characters do makes much sense to me.
