Last episode of M*A*S*H

Warning....spoilers for series finale of the tv show M*A*S*H, which ended in 1983. If you don't want that series spoiled do not continue....

On the last episode of M*A*S*H, we see that the main character Hawkeye is suffering psychological damage, and we don't know why. We see him telling a shrink, in flashback form, what happened. In the flashbacks, he and a bunch of locals are hiding in a bus with the enemy closing in. Someone in the bus has a live chicken and he yells at her "shut that chicken up!" She kills the chicken. We are not sure exactly why this is upsetting Hawkeye so much, then later in the episode we learn that it wasnt a chicken he yelled at her to shut up, it was her baby, and she killed her baby to keep it quiet, hence his psychological difficulties.

Why mention this now, and here? Was wondering if the same way in M*A*S*H we the audience were shown inaccurate flashbacks, perhaps we were shown inaccurate flashbacks in Fear the Walking Dead? Maybe Travis actually killed Chris, but has fooled himself into thinking that Chris just left him? Maybe with the other two gringos showing up at the hotel, no doubt Travis will be all pissed off and yelling at them "Where is Chris! What happened to Chris!" and maybe starts torturing them or something, then they blurt out something to the effect of "you know what happened, YOU KILLED HIM old man!" and then the real memories start flooding back to Travis.

Any thoughts?

I love this show but the writing can be lazy, and, can they get YOU on their writing staff? Excellent idea, but as others have said I doubt the show is doing this.

This would make for phenomenal, compelling television.

Which is why I'm absolutely sure it won't happen in this show.
