Best Supporting Actor?

Dev Patel just got nominated by the Critic's Choice Awards for that category when he's supposed to be playing the main lead in this film. It's all about him and that makes him worthy for the leading category unless his younger version has more screentime, except Noah Taylor dominated most of Shine as the younger version of Geoffrey Rush while Rush himself got the Oscar for the lead category. This is one of the strangest selections an award show has made that I've ever known.

Apparently he only shows up 55 minutes into the movie so it's really not that odd.

Actually Sunny Pawar as the young kid should get best supporting actor nomination. He is flat out brilliant!

That's exactly what I though after having seen it yesterday

orebanjoko are you saying that in regards to the criteria for this award or for distinguishing the category of best actor/best supporting actor in any film awards? If so, don't forget Anthony Hopkins was nominated (and won) for Best Actor for something like 20 minutes of screen time for Silence of the Lambs. I didn't think they had rejigged the classification of the category.

Anthony Hopkins is a big actor though. Based on Screen Time Dev could get away with going supporting
