The stand up and cutaways need to go

There's no reason to cut to Rob talking to the camera. It adds nothing to the show. It actually hurts the flow of the show. And the stand up bits aren't needed. I can see if you start the episode with it, to set up the theme of the episode but in the middle isn't a smart move. Neither are needed and both is overkill.

I didn't dislike them, but I definitely agree that they seem totally unnecessary and an interruption. Maybe they're using them for a change of scene or mood, but they come off as a kind of a vanity piece for "Rob".

I came here to say this. I kind of get why they went with the cutaways if they're trying to emulate the reality show format, but the stand-up segments make the whole show feel confused.

I think the bigger problem here is that neither are funny. In fact, it's some of the worst stand-up I've ever seen, and I'm baffled whenever the crowd laughs.

I agree, the cutaways are whatever. I see what they're going for but I could take 'em or leave 'em. The stand up is just so unfunny, I get that it's relevant to what's going on in the story, but he just sucks at it. it works in shows like Louie and Seinfeld cause it's relevant but also decent stand up

You can tell he wants to be taken seriously as a stand up comedian really really bad... he just doesn't have a good delivery and his jokes are super corny... and all the premises have been done by better/real comedians. Its like he wants to prove he is funny and can do more than just funny characters on SNL and in movies. Which is his bread and butter, well it was.

Its tacky when asian comedians do the stereotypical asian accents.. and has been done numerous times.. Yet Rob really thought him doing it was a good bit? let alone good enough to be featured on his show? it shows how out of touch he is. Its like he's parodying what a bad comic would do, which wouldn't be bad if not for the fact you can tell he's trying really hard to be funny. Real comedians have to watch this and cringe.

I'm almost positive that the clips of him doing stand up isn't actually in front of a live audience either. Where on Louie its obvious its him working out material at the comedy cellar in front of a real crowd that paid to go see comedy.

Not sure how anyone making this show thought it'd be a good idea to take Louie's formula with the stand up, even down to the brick wall behind him, too make it seem like he's actually in a real comedy club. You would think someone would be like

"rob, you know Louie does this exact same thing right? and hes regarded as one of the best comedians working today. do you really think its a good idea to do this? " even if its slightly different they had to know people would be like is he trying to do Louie's thing?
