I agree with some critics that this coming-of-age type story is somewhat played out, and especially the kind that always have the woman becoming some kind of "empowered" slut in lieu of something with a little more longevity, but it is still way better than the majority of movies. it's beautifully shot and well-acted, especially Paz's character.
