Why 'Freetown'
If this is about Liberia why is it called Freetown? This is not a moan, I just want to know.

shareThere were a few references to this.
The hymn being sung - know this that every soul is free, touches on the desire for freedom.
The oft expressed desire to just be somewhere safe so they could teach.
The oppression of the Krahn and the religious persecution (although very little of this was shown).
And, of course, that was their desired destination - Freetown, Sierra Leone.

double entendre:
1. a destination which is free from the war
2. the literal name of the destination
