Doug was a total *beep* to Scott right after Scott just got him a hooker and gave him some weed. Then later on Scott is considering himself a sh!tty friend when Doug is in the hospital, there was nothing he or Stephanie could do, it's just that he wasn't there. Up until the scene after Doug had a hooker(the restaurant scene) he was nothing but nice to him, Scott even said to stop thanking him so much when he was cutting up Doug's food.

It's because Scott slept with Stephanie. Even people with more experience than Doug - with a friend having sex with someone desired by him - might have a "tantrum".

I realise that, but it was still retarded. Who else would've got him a hooker though?
Doug probably would've been a 40 year old virgin if it wasn't for him.
