6/10 The solidification within a field of high uncertainty

6/10

This handles willingness to follow authoritarian commands. Stanley can be related to as the Joker of sociology (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0AXgaFqEas&list=PLXoLrsw0h0vZfF9MAHwSR3NubR32uQmcp).
This movie is slowpaced, the backdrop is not accurate more then a few parts of the time and the sound is average. The camerawork is quite nice at times.

No matter if you think this is bad science or not, or if you do/don't believe in the reliability of the study the message that the movie ends up delivering makes it worth the watch (do not look under the spoiler if you intend to see the movie).

Pro's
• Length
• The slowpaced style was used to impact gravity onto the study, as were the comments about genius - to give the viewer a set perception of how to perceive it.
• The connotations brought to the moral sentiment by the leads slowly changing rationalisation surrounding the test. Highlighted with an end quote - "...you could say we are puppets, but I believe that we are puppets with perception, with awareness - sometimes we can see the strings. And, perhaps our awareness is the first step in our liberation." That would have been empasized with more information about the issues with the test.
• Peter Sarsgaard (perfect for this part when it comes to voice and facial expressions).
• It expresses the vulnerablility of humanity in a way, so that the individual can counteract it in every day relatable situations.

Con's
• Neglecting to voice the critiques of the study in an adequate manner, including reliability (selection).
• Neglects to put forth (enough) that the findings are only applicable in an authoritarian environment.
• The connection that is meant to be felt with the lead could have been made stronger if the supporting cast was consisting of unfamiliar faces in a larger extent.

[Opinion regarding the research] Made with an uncomplete preconception (not having read the study).

If you've read this review you no doubt noted the elephant that others have pointed out in other threads. I do not think the key (to human behaviour) comes from Stanley, due to the way the experiement took place. If you decide how a question is asked and ask it in a certain way you can impact the answer you get, if you then apply the results in a certain way and when that is not applicable end with the concluding note that the opposite was really what the study was meant to show as the result - then something is rotten.
I do not think it's right to transcribe it to him just because the economical quasi-intellectuals by applying his findings in conservative agenda has mowed down any notion that it was empirically true (for single indviduals rational behaviour outside regressive hierarchical powerstructures). Plutocracy have exhausted it fully in an eager attempt to uphold greed and fear of humanity itself (Hobbes war). Now we stand on the brink - which the people is slowly finally taking action against.

What follows beyond the earlier quote is though grand and it is positive for humanity if the full sentiment comes into light.

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.
