it seems larger groups are slower to sort stuff...

i've been watching show's like this, 10000bc, survivor etc.... Is it my imagination or the way the shows a presented, but does it seem that larger groups are slower to sort stuff...Im pretty stunned how long it takes them to sort critical stuff like water and hunting rosters. An example is taking a month to find the yakka and sugarcane plantation... something more is needed in these shows to make the participants try harder, im not sure what...
