Except the kid. And maybe the assistant. Everyone else? Not so much.
The boss is bossy. The mom has 'careerwoman-itis'. The dad has self esteem issues. The babysitter/rapist is bonkers. The foster dad is a pervert. The cops are dimwitted.
At this point I think that the best thing that any of them could do would be to turn the kid over to the assistant to be taken care of--after all, she's the only one who's been shown to be competent!
I have to agree that the assistant was the only one who was sympathetic in this.

I helped out my dad often when I was growing up - even younger than the girl in this, and I would sit and watch until he needed me. how she is just wandering around, is dangerous. and until a point that it is his fault. she is old enough to listen and follow directions.

uhhh... the kid didn't look good in this, either! the kid physically looked like she was abused and malnourished. and mentally... if I was that age and I took my father's nail gun in my hand, he would have shot me in the ass with it. what is this 'this is not a toy' crap? she will not learn if she is not properly disciplined.
my niece is two years old and my sister has already had to do some 'have to learn the hard way' lessons for her. my niece wandered away from her in a supermarket but my sister noticed and hid behind a display case. when my niece noticed mommy was not around she got nervous. we will have to see later if she ever pushes that bar again.

BTW, that’s not to say the clueless should-not-be parents in this thing were any good. We live in a world where people who were the children of clueless parents raise children who will be clueless parents because nobody in their family tree knows how to teach how to be an effective parent, or spouse, or citizen.
