Any Texas fans here? If so is Freddy a big part of their history

Before this movie I have never heard of him. Just curious for you Texas fans is Freddy kind of known as one of those past players that everyone knows.

He is indeed. Stored at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium is the scoreboard that was dedicated the Fred Steinmark scoreboard in his memory in 1972. The current scoreboard was also dedicated to him when the movie was released and Texas players traditionally touch the scoreboard when the pass by it with the Hook 'Em gesture.

I think many students know there was a player who died back in the day, but don’t know many details. I was a student there and that’s how I was until I saw this movie.
