Season 2

Anyone know if there will be a second season? Really enjoyed this show.

It's a ten-episode miniseries, so there won't be a second season (though I wish it would happen). But somewhat related, CN apparently is open to more miniseries thanks to OTGW's positive reaction that they recently commissioned two more -- a special Adventure Time miniseries and Long Live the Royals.

Are you sick of piles of owls constantly blocking your driveway? Well, then you need Owl Trowel!

Adventure Time: Stakes is 8 × 11m parter, just aired last month. Eps 7.06-7.13.

Over the Garden Wall completed its story and ended on a very satisfactory note, I know it was a great show but why would anyone want to have what can only be a disappointing follow-up?

What I could see happening, and which would be awesome, create a block reserved to new cartoons which have a season long story-arc which will be wrapped up by the end. It seems to be working with shows like American Horror Story or True Detective, why not an animated show using that same style? Don't worry about being renewed, just tell us a short but well-written story with the number of episodes you have and let that be gems to inspire future shows.

The closest I've seen for animated shows are ones showing off short pilot-episodes for cartoons, some of which went on to become full-fledged shows. Why not a version of that but instead of just the pilot you instead get enough episodes to really get a feel for the show.

I wouldn't want a sequel, and I don't think any avid fans would either. The story is complete and ended perfectly. It would be nice to see the creators make another miniseries similar, though. Winter would be really cool for a theme.

I want at least a spinoff. If we can't have a well-done sequel with Wirt and Greg seeing everyone in the Unknown again, at least we could have a spinoff of stuff going on in the Unknown after they've left, and touching back on how things came to be- ie Beatrice getting turned into a bird (yes, it's because she threw a rock at one, but WHO cursed her for it?), where the Woodsman's daughter was the whole time, if Lorna ever leaves (and really, I thought she and Wirt had a serious thing going on, so I'm a bit disappointed nothing came from that), how Jason the frog can talk (is he actually from the unknown? he wasn't found outrageously far from that lake), and so on. There's more than enough mystery for several seasons.

I doubt anything will happen, but I hope so. I'll be so sad if we never see Wirt, Greg or Beatrice and the others again.

Angharad, is that the wind, or just a furious fixation?

The namefull frog can sing for the same reason there are skeletons with pumpkin heads.

I understand your point is that the frog was found before they went into the unknown. But in the end the unknown was never real. And the namefull frog didn't talk outside of the dream.

Boom! Studio Comics came out recently with 4 comic issues that detail some of the in-between stories of the two brothers, Fred the Horse's backstory, and the Woodman's daughter Anna's history as well.

Yes Def a spin off! My son and I loved this show

After a special and a mini-series that covered the cut episodes, Boom Comics is finally doing an ongoing OTGW comic that will continue Wirt & Greg's story, along with a side plot about the woodsman's daughter.

...I think it starts in April?

"DO NOT WRECK THIS GIGANTIC DOOM."

Is it set after the show's end?

reply

Surprisingly, yes.

"DO NOT WRECK THIS GIGANTIC DOOM."

reply

Huh, that makes me much more interested in it, actually.
