The Beast Terrifies Me

Okay, I normally don't get scared by cartoons anymore but the Beast? He legitimately terrified me the first time I watched this. It was that scene where he changes and his eyes start to glow different colors. I was just really scared. I don't know why but the Beast made it hard for me to sleep that night.

Kudos to the animators though.

This used to be a funhouse
But now its full of evil clowns

Absolutely. He's nearly perfect as far as evil monster design goes. The way he sounds and looks is brilliant. The scariest monsters are always those that have mysterious, dark forms. The show was very smart how they left The Beast's true form a mystery, except for one brief, terrifying glimpse in the final episode. It was short enough that viewers would likely still be uncertain of exactly what he looks like, but you probably saw enough to know that it was scary. I just looked up a well-timed screenshot of The Beast fully lit, and I was not disappointed.

The dog in the first episode and wicked Lorna are also quite scary as well. I love seeing genuinely scary stuff that isn't just jump scares.

The was more genuine horror in this series than in all the horror movies that have come out lately.

Yet it was so cleverly veiled that children won't pick up on most of it. They will notice the overtly creepy and 'scary' creatures, while adults will grasp the more morose aspects of the suggested terrors.

It was magnificent in every regard.
