One of the best cartoon series of all time?

I absolutely loved this show and so did my 6 yr old son we didn't want it to end!!!!

Well, the other cartoon by the same author, Patrick Mchale, had 7 seasons and still has a decent score of 8.7.

So, that might be good.

It's truly a masterpiece, that's for sure. I would definitely rank it in the top 10 of short series/animated movies.

It possesses such a layered narrative at times, it can be too complicated for children to truly comprehend, and yet there is more than enough for them to enjoy while more analytically-minded adults are held in awe by the nuanced plot construction and subtle deconstruction of a number of old fairy tale tropes and assumptions.

And while the ending itself does rely on several tropes to reach resolution, they are set up exceedingly well and believably such that fridge logic doesn't take place and the series can be completely enjoyed over multiple viewings.

It's truly astounding and puts to shame the big studios with their overblown CGI and watered-down storylines.

THIS is truly an animated work of art.
