Do people here even know how to write a mature review?

I'm mean, you are allowed to hate a movie WITHOUT BEING RUDE, you know! I don't mean to sound preachy here, but over the past several months (since this movie's release), I've seen far too many people coming on here, not knowing how to write a negative review without insulting the people who like it, and it has been really bothering me. Let me tell you something, there's a huge difference between insulting a movie and insulting a real person.

These are opinions:

- "I hated/didn't like this movie."

- "This movie sucked."

- "This movie was really disappointing for me."

- "I really don't care for NaruHina."

These are insults:

- "Whoever likes this movie is not a real Naruto fan!"

- "People who give this movie a high rating are obviously blind."

- "Fans that like this are only Hinata fanboys/fangirls stuck in their childish love fantasies" (an actual quote from a real user review).

- "NaruHina fans aren't true Naruto fans!"

- "Kishimoto's writing is insulting, because he likes to fantasize women as useless housewives and baby mamas" (Another actual quote from a real user review).

See what I mean here? It's not that hard to tell the difference.

I enjoyed this movie, I do admit I am in favor of the Naruto-Hinata relationship.

I honestly think that me and you are the only ones who wrote mature reviews. This is not a perfect film, but I don't agree with most of the reviews here. You know, NS fans who hate this film just because Naruto and Hinata kiss. Its the worst.

Well, I wouldn't say that we're "the only ones". Some of the reviews here are a little biased, but I counted, and there are 34 positive reviews and only 14 negative (and 8 mixed) on this site.

That said, I normally don't mind negative reviews, as long as they don't personally insult others. Unfortunately, 85% of the Naruto fandom doesn't know the difference between insults and opinions. I've seen this same problem occur on Amazon, Facebook, and especially Tumblr.

A lot of people invested a lot of time and money into this series. As such, I see no problem with them evoking highly negative passions towards this film. Really, the last third of the manga was utter crap. Can't really blame people for being upset.

Upset enough to write opinions about their disappointment can be acceptable (unless that anger goes toward a feeling of 'I want to smash TV/laptop/something' violence, at which point something is very wrong here, IMO), but if it turns to insulting people with a different, more positive opinion, I see little justification for such rants.

reply

I agree. No need to insult people simply having a different opinion. Insulting this movie, however, is fair game.

Defending this movie, as well.

At least this film was good. At least this film made you care about the characters. AT LEAST THIS FILM IS CANON! Defending this movie is fair game, because it was actually good. Also, the third half of the manga was great. Not amazing, but great.

Great depending on your standards. For people who don't like plot holes, abandoned subplots, pointless character introductions, constant deus ex machina and frequent retcons, the third half of the manga was a disaster through and through.

You know what? I admit that this movie has flaws.

There's obvious pacing issues in the first 20-30 minutes, and the fact that Naruto and Hinata were still able to breath on the moon after destroying the Tenseigan probably didn't make any sense, but the way some people treat this movie like the "worst thing to ever happen to Naruto" is ridiculous. Naruto itself has been subpar since the end of the Pain Invasion arc, so what makes this movie any different or worse? That's what I'm wondering.

I agree with those flaws. The worst thing to happen to Naruto is RtN.

Or 98% of the Shippuden fillers. 

I don't think this movie is the worst thing to happen to Naruto. It's just a movie. Really, the worst thing to happen to Naruto is probably Sasuke after the first time-skip. Kishi started getting obsessed with the character and his damn bloodline. That and the Zombie war. Really killed my interest in the series.
