Bad rating?
Is this movie that bad or just trolling fans? I was really hyped to see the movie, but the rating said otherwise. Any suggestion?

shareDon't let it bother you, I take IMDb ratings like a grain of salt. Besides, the only people I've seen giving it "bad ratings" are bitter NaruSaku fans from America who can't accept that their ship didn't become canon.
This movie's only been out in Japan for 2 days, so I assume the rating will go higher over time.
Proud supporter of NaruHina and SasuSaku since 2006

Deluded NaruSaku fans who still think this is non canon, and think that RtN is canon.

Nope sorry, but Japanese fans hate it too. A lot of it is due to false advertisement (suggesting this movie is gonna be about team 7, only to reveal that it's all about Hinata, who nobody gives a sh-t about over there, after everyone has pre-ordered tickets!).

But I thought everything is about Hinata. I mean the trailers focuses more on Hinata and only show Sakura in one or two scenes while Hinata get more than 5 and we also know that Sasuke will always have less screen time than extras in the movie lol.
And yeah, that's a lot of 1 stars from the Japanese ppl.
The initial trailers did not squarely focus on Hinata. They only showed the Hinata trailers after everyone preordered tickets. Classic bait and switch.
Honestly, Studio Pierrot's only hope is for western NH fans to eat this up.

Please. Not a single one of those yahoo reviews is in English. Not a single one of the hundreds of anti-threads are in English. These grand conspiracy theories are silly. What's next? Western NaruSaku are responsible for the 20% dip in expected ticket sales? That they blackmailed people in not showing up to see the movie? That they held a gun over Naruto's VA to make her decline to voice Bolt in future installments even though she had expressed a great deal of interest in voicing Naruto's son two summers ago? C'mon now.
Nobody likes retcons. Nobody likes false advertisement. Nobody likes overdone cliches. Nobody likes character derailment. You don't need a grand conspiracy to explain why a Naruto movie isn't good. This movie simply sucks. It's not the first Naruto movie to suck (see Blood Prison or . . . actually most of them to be honest), but it's definitely The Last. Believe it.

By the way, if Japanese fans and critics "hated" this movie so much, then answer me this:
1.) How did it still manage to make money in Japan even AFTER its release on December 6th?
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-12-06/the-last-naruto-the-movie-poised-to-top-2-billion-yen/.81861
And don't say it was because they denied refunds, because there's no real proof of that. Believe me, I tried looking that up on Google, and the only results I got were some NaruSaku blogs on Tumblr.
2.) Why was it the only Naruto movie to get limited theatrical releases in multiple countries OUTSIDE the U.S.? Hell, Road to Ninja didn't even become that global, since that only had a couple showings in a few states.
3.) How did it become the #1 top selling DVD/blu-ray in Japan, during its first week on sale?

Because it was a canon Naruto movie.
