Why.... why does this actually look like it might be good?

1) It actually has some action.

2) It has some humour/banter.

3) It shows the Rangers actually helping people and saving lives.

4) Zordon looks and sounds awesome.

Right on man! I'm loving the chemistry of the cast. Even in their interviews--they seem like best friends and that will show in the movie (already shows in the 2nd trailer). Zordon is awesome as a lot of ppl pointed out, and I am impressed by Banks' Rita performance so far. She actually looks like a bad guy and will actually hurt you! But the final one to me--is the quick shot of Jason helping his dad towards in the end of the trailer. His dad looos hurt, bad, and this movie finally gives us consequences. I don't wish death upon anyone lol but the old show always overlooked that aspect of the city, and it was always in the downtown district where no one was that. Haha. I'm totally excited for this movie. The cast seem like they care, the movie production seems like they care, and while I agree Lionsgate made a gamble with that budget, that is also proof that they care. March is a lot of touch competition, and I just hope this movie does some justice-- because going from the trailers-- it deserves success, my opinion anyway.

Anyways, glad to see the film seems to be finding its audience. I have high hopes.

Yup! I remembered him from the first trailer, and instantly connected him with Jason. I'm obsessed about this movie. Kinda sad but... oh well lol.

Still can't quite make him out in that brief snippet from the trailer. I suppose it could be him, I'd just need a little bit longer of a shot to see for sure.

I had the same thought. It reminded me of when Transformers was announced. When I heard live action I figured it would be crap but it was awesome. I'll wait til after DVD release but I mat actually need to check this one out.

Yeah it does look great. Assuming that it really does good, I expect solid wins for them over at the next MTV Movie Awards or the Teen/Kids Choice Awards.

It'd be really cool if said Teen/Kids Choice Awards did a tribute to the Power Rangers.

Because it would appear the people making it may have actually decided to take it seriously rather than just phoning it in. They seem at the very least to have gotten the tone of it spot on. It feels modern, but it understands the sense of humor and adventure that fans of the original series grew up enjoying.

I am too surprised it doesn't look like utter junk. I'm also glad there doesn't seem to be a backlash, that the dislikes are less than Likes o their trailers, that people aren't foolishly attacking this movie as some SJW propaganda vehicle for diversity. The final movie might be terrible, but so far, the trailer indicate it could be decent. As least better than Transformers.

Agree 100%

So many folks these days are so busy trying to be the best at picking movies apart that they forget to just watch the damn movie.

It's pretty hilarious just how many movies I've actually enjoyed just in the past three years that the internet was been hellbent on armchair critiquing from day one.
