I really can't believe these movies are still being made. I don't think they are "bad" but damn, are they just trying to keep up with the resident evil movies?
shareMost of Hollywood doesn't make movies for the sake of creating art, it's to rake in money. And I'm betting that the DVD & Blu-Ray releases of the Underworld movies bring in tons of cash! The more movies a franchise gets, the more different "collector boxes" they can fill up with basically the same material and thus very little investment; die-hard fans will definitely pick those up as well. So it's certainly a lucrative business.
That said, Underworld may not be Oscar-worthy material but it's definitely among the more enjoyable action movies with a very recognizable signature style. The audience seems to dig it with every chapter that is released, so why would they stop?
