franchise biased against Lycans

The franchise still seems biased against them as lycans don’t get to be deuteragonists or have power upgrades aside from getting bigger. Granted the lycans have done their share of atrocities, but they’ve demonstrated they’re more adaptable, less backstabby, & less elitist. Where’s the moderate lycan-vampire coalition when you really need it? https://mattthecatania.wordpress.com/2017/01/12/does-underworld-blood-wars-underwhelm/

Since the main character is a vampire and her co-lead was 1) a Lycan for maybe thirty minutes and then a hybrid, and 2) he was stupidly killed off, it's really no surprise that the Lycans aren't a huge presence. Also, the only relevant and interesting Lycan character, Lucian, is dead. Marius was pretty good and it's cool how he had a vampire lover, but he was no Lucian.

Marius could have been an interesting character if they had filled out his backstory and explained his motivations better. As it was, he was fairly boring. Just yet another lycan for Selene to fight.

considering it's much more fun for a human audience to watch a hot human looking vampires to kill not human looking monsters....and considering how this movie seems to be going for the quick buck rather than the high uality...well, it sucs lol

Be it in a future installment or the TV show they are rumoured to be making - I'd like to see there be a group among the Lykans who are almost like the Nordic tribe. They aren't so violent, they are somewhat removed from the rest of their kind, but maybe they aren't so mystical, just practical in the idea that if all Lykans were constantly trying to kill Vampires and vice versa, eventually it would just be mutually assured destruction. So this group has gone to sit it out, and they are somewhat interested in entertaining the idea of a peace between their little group and the Coven under David as well as the Nordic coven.

You could have them off in Canada or something like that, so because they are removed from the European groups, they aren't so worried about the infighting among the Lykans and they have just been roaming the wilderness, enjoying their freedom. Then they hear about what happened with Selene, David, and Lena being the new vampires in charge and even in Canada, they know of Selene- the Death Dealer who loved the Corvinus hybrid and had a child with him after killing Viktor, so they decide to send a message (or a messenger) to test the waters with Selene.

Selene would be interested, because if the two races could broker a peace (even a delicate one), then Eve wouldn't be in so much danger all the time. David would probably be interested for the same reason the Lykan pack would be- if all the two races do is fight then someday they'll both be history, and Lena being able to See all she does, sees how this would be the best way to save the Vampire race as well as to have peace, which is what the Nordic Coven seem to wish for, even while preparing for war. And Eve can be there, and she also sees how much easier and safer her life could be if the Lykans and Vampires aren't constantly fighting and killing each other.

But, the wrinkle could come in the form of both the vampires that oppose the idea entirely AND with Lykans who were still loyal to Marius and want revenge, plus they feel betrayed by this pack who are willing to have a peace with the Vampires. So Selene, Eve, Lena, and David would still be dealing with threats from within and outside forces.

I wish they explained how the Nordic coven came to be. I had a fanfic idea where eve, some new lycan hero would achieved dominance and loyalty among the tunnel lycans, nursing them back to health to become a worthy faction. IN the roster for AWAKENING there was a character named HERO LYCAN. If you wanted to have a peace, you would either need a new faction of lycans, or a new Hero lycan character to root for so you'd care about a truce, or both.
