Error in the Canon

This is my second favorite Underworld Movie behind the first. I wish they would got the Canon correct. During the opening narration, Selene mentions that Victor was the most powerful vampire. But that was not true,(Marcus was). They used that lie as a ruse to protect the species.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I think by saying that, Selene not only implies he was a powerful Vampire indeed, but he also was the most respected leader of his clan, the one with most influence :)

Milo, i think you are correct. i think Selene means "powerful" as in stature/respect more than just physically strong.

The lie was that if he was killed it would result in the death of all the vampires, it had nothing to do with his strength. If anything the ruse showed that Viktor was more powerful as Marcus feared him enough to make up that lie about consequences of his death.

I don't think that was necessarily about personal power, but about the fact that all Victor's lackeys who Marcus needed to corral his brother were loyal first and foremost to Victor.
