The David/Semira fight sequence was awesome!

IMO is was choreographed/filmed/blocked really well. also i loved how David killed Semira. that was a great moment in the film. the people in theater were clapping and like "YEAH!".

reply

Yeah, but HOW did that kill Semira? Viktor was stabbed through the mouth too by Lucian in Rise of the Lycans and survived. If he survived that, Semira should have after gaining enhanced strength, speed, and healing from Selene's blood. Did David stab a little higher and cut through her brain?

reply

Exactly major plot hole, unless they come up with Underworld 6 saying you have to be blessed with the blood or the like to be fully enhanced with its powers.

reply

My guess is that it depends on the specific cut. Viktor may have been lucky to survive Lucian's attack, or David just gotten a lucky hit. Otherwise, you're right that Semira should have survived that.

reply

The writers suck as they could have explained it better, but if you get the implication of what happen to Michael with Marius taking his blood involuntary that the effects of having blood on that basis only lasts so long if it is not given voluntarily with a blessing. Remember in Awakening, Quint had to keep getting shots from Eve's DNA to keep his enhanced powers. So in conclusion Semira enhanced power from Selene's blood was temporary and her powers were quickly drained when she was exposed to the sun and impaled at the same time.

you are comparing two very different injuries. Victor was stabbed in the mouth with the blade exiting at an angle behind his jaw. Not a fatal wound but still a significant injury. On the other hand Semira was stabbed straight through the back of her head and out the mouth, severing her brain stem from her spinal cord. A Fatal wound.

It was beyond thrilling. That was truly a proper fight.

Every fight scene is awesome in this film.

Effective trolling is art.

reply

Semantics, looked the same to me too. I actually expected her to survive it too given Viktor survived it. Writers made a mistake.
