Awakening and Blood Wars are complete opposites

So I rewatched Awakening and I still think it's rushed and messy but you can tell this thing had money behind it. It's much more polished but Selene acts like a psycho in it. Plus the humans knowing is completely forgotten with Blood Wars.

Blood Wars is more like Underworld going to its roots, a low budget gothic action movie. However it seemed a lot more story based. I'm shocked at how different these two movies feel.

Selene was more aggressive in Awakening after what the enemies did to her and her loved one(s). I particularly love that scene of arm breaking. That's what happens when you take Selene prisoner and she later breaks free. If you consider a lioness protecting her cub as psychotic, then perhaps she is, and with good reason. Later on she goes more and more badass. She is protecting her daughter.

Mind the 400-year gap between the two movies. The Purge campaign was long gone.

Continuity has never been an issue in the Underworld franchise, except for the prequel, of course. The four movies starring Kate have maintained the spirit of the franchise very well.

Effective trolling is art.

So they're driving ~400-year-old cars in this movie?

I don't dance, tell jokes or wear my pants too tight, but I do know about a thousand songs.

400 year old gap? Really? Was this addressed in the movie, because hell even the bad guys are using 21st century transportation (remember the ship yard?).

In vino veritas

Awakening had too much budget, imo, but Blood Wars suffered from lack of it. If Blood Wars had had a 50 million budget, who knows what other great things they could have brought forward. Anyway, I really liked Blood Wars and I think it is a great step forward in the franchise.

I agree completely. So disappointed in the visual effects of the Lycans and the battle scenes weren't that creative. Also this movie had way too much drama compared to the others
