what are the politics of the poet/activist

Interesting film. However, I feel (at least to me, who I'm not Indian) that we don't get enough information about the political views of the folk singer, and why he is considered so dangerous by the Indian state as to be continously arresting and harassing him. Is he a believer in Marathi nationalism? A spokesman for the Dalits? or a more traditional Marxist?

the movie didn't really give us much background other than he had been a political activists in the 70s. I think he was more of an activist for lower caste workers but we never know if there is a specific agenda out there against him. Having visited Mumbai several times since my family lives there I liked the film for the truths it tried to portray.

Overall I liked the movie but there were a few areas found lacking. The editing was a tad poor as certain shots were left lingering too long and some of the conversations were dry and downright boring for the casual viewer.
