2 x France at the Golden Globes?!

France has just received a double nomination at the Golden Globes with both Elle and Divines receiving nods for Best Foreign Language Film.
Was it really necessary? Couldn't they have picked just one of the films to represent the country?
What about some great films from different nationalities that were snubbed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association?

I thought so, too. What's even shady is that Divine was not even France's official selection for the Oscar's.

I guess the people at HFPA just selected it as a personal favorite.

What at least makes it different is that Qatar is still part of the production of "Divines," even though it's still considered a French submission.
