Bloody after being raped is ridiculous

She must have been on her period or the writer was simply trying to over dramatize the point. The vagina won't bleed like that unless she is a virgin or on her period.

A guy can't have sex with you if you are dry, since it would just as unpleasant for him.

reply

Correct me if I'm wrong, but rape is usually done by force, yes? It's not a caring, gentle type of love-making, quite the opposite, so as a woman I'd say yes, absolutely yes, this is completely 100% plausible. I don't even need to get into reasons why this is totally plausible, just believe me when I say it is.
And as for the rapist not finding pleasure because of her lack of, ahem, readiness, I'll say, I'd have to disagree, only because if we used this principle, there'd be no rape, if the rapist didn't find this pleasurable in a sick, twisted way. That just makes no sense whatsoever. It's the use of force and domination over the victim that they find pleasure in, not necessarily just the act, amirite?

reply

Don't know much about rape, do you? Rape is not about the sex, it's about power and domination.

Wow, I can't tell if you are actually just this ignorant of the facts or just trolling?

reply

The OP is obviously a Republican who also believes that younger women cannot get pregnant as a result of rape (since, without orgasm-the cervix remains closed.)

reply

Ha! yes indeed. Making all those war crime rapes mighty useless right. This is a strategy that has long been used by warriors, rape all the local women so as for their bloodlines to mingle, in order to better take over the land.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

reply

What the fùck did I just read?

reply

Rape is about sex, as well as power. But that's really beside the point. There's no doubt that a raped woman can bleed. And the rapist can enjoy the rape in a sexual way, as well as dominating way.

reply

At least it shows how bad it is even on a purely physical level as well.

The greatest trick the Devil has ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist!

She mentioned to Robert that she was having her period shortly after that scene, remember? To which he replied that he didn't mind a little blood.

reply

Period at 63?? Wow... But hey, the 60s are the new 40s, right?

reply

I think that the character is 48 in this movie (10 year old girl (covered in ash and all that) + 38 years that dad's been in the pokey).

reply

I'd seen Isabelle Huppert in "Things to Come" about a month ago and was amazed - even though she's 63, she has retained her beauty and can easily play a woman 15 years younger than her true age.

reply

She said that in order to avoid having sex with him because she was injured from the rape. Plus, she probably was bleeding since he forcibly penetrated her and bled profusely afterward.

reply

The ignorance demonstrated by this post is astounding.

Post-menopausal women have atrophied vaginas unless they take artificial hormones every day. I haven't seen this movie and don't know if the character is supposed to be taking artificial hormones every day. But if not, forcible sex, or even regular sex, results in BLEEDING and I know this from EXPERIENCE as well as basic factual medical knowledge.

The fact you think "a guy can't have sex with you if you are dry" is hilarious. If that were true, very few rapes would ever occur since most women need some foreplay to lubricate.

How old are you?
