Why the fuss about Huppert's performance?

Seriously, I thought her performance was overrated and can't understand why critics are raving about it and she even won some awards for it. Her delivery was exactly the same as in Things To Come, the only difference between those two performances is that in the latter she didn't have to show her crotch.

Anyone else felt underwhelmed with her performance? BTW I also thought the film was overrated. Stranger By the Lake did a similar thing, but much better imo.
