'Shetty'?

I have heard the name Shetty before but I didn't know it referred to a group of people. Can someone tell me who these Shettys are? I noticed in the subtitles he said, "Speak to me in Hindi." Do Shettys speak a different language? And was the wedding dress she was wearing representative of "Shetty"? Just trying to learn.

shetty is a surname of people from Mangalore, a city of coastal Karnataka ,India.
Shetty people speaks regional language of mangalore and this language is called TULU.
