Surprising Allen Movie.
Given Allen's recent movies and the way this started out with the pretentious liberals talking the audience to death, it surprised me the way it shifted to a pretty interesting murder story.

Politics aside which recent movies of his didn't you like, and are there other Woody Allen movies you did like?
I thought "To Rome With Love" really stunk. I was embarrassed for Woody on that one.

To Rome With Love is not perfect, but slightly underrated because most people didn't realize it's a concept film where Rome has literal magical powers to make everyone's fantasies come true. Once that is accepted, it goes from a film with a bunch of disconnected plots, to at least a little bit more unique and interesting.
