Waste of time. LAZY filmmaking at its worst
I caught this on Lifetime Network, and it was AWFUL. Not awful in a funny sort of way like some snow sharks movie; just awful in a painful-to-watch kind of way. The cast tried their best but they were let down by low production values, an amateurish script and all the low rent locations. I think director Mike Elliott should go with his strengths and stick to producing schlock films, or at least find a way more experienced and competent writer to hang his reputation on.
I don't know what was more painful to watch; the very obviously plastic toy guns they gave the actors, the really bad computer-generated images or the guards carrying guns INSIDE the prison walls. Seriously, could they not find at least one person to help advise them on this, or even do a ten-second Google search?
Personally, I find this lazy filmmaking to be insulting, and if they can't care to at least try to get SOME of the details correct, why should I care to watch it. NOTE TO LIFETIME ADVERTISERS: it was so painful and insulting to my intelligence to watch, I turned it off half way through and I will certainly never waste my time trying to watch it again.
The only hilarious part in the whole painful mess was watching the extras jostling each other for a better position to be seen by the camera. And what's with all the extras getting credits as an actor on imdb? I see this film was made in Canada and maybe rules are different in other countries, but here in California, not only would this not be allowed but any extras caught falsely padding their resumes would be blacklisted. Or maybe in Canada, every jerk who drives past the set honking his car horn gets credited as a sound effects editor.
Trust me on this. Watch snow sharks instead. You will thank me.
