It seems cheap, but you have to imagine how many people had to be paid off for it to work: Facebook, Skype, I-tunes... etc.

reply

Disagree...those companies probably paid for product placement.

Why would they have to pay these companies? It isn't an issue to use actual products and product logos in a film. People seem to think it is, but it isn't as long as the products and logos are used appropriately (for their intended use). Hollywood has blocked out company logos in the past because they don't want to give away free marketing to the companies involved.

Hahaha..you are sooooo wrong...please use McDonalds, Disney, Marvel, the Olympics logo, et in you next for profit project and watch what happens.....

reply

McDonalds would only care if you used their logo or products in a way that made them look bad. If you had a scene with someone eating a Big Mac and making it look like the bst burger ever, McDonalds would love that, but since its an unhealthy fast food chain its unlikely that anyone would have a natural way to put a McDonalds into their movie and not make it feel like blatant product placement.

Disney would care most from an intellectual property standpoint. If you use the Mickey Mouse character or obvious Disney characters, they are going to sue you for stealing their property. Same for Marvel and superhero characters.

The Olympics puts out lots of rules because of how expensive and tough it is to get the exclusive rights to air them. A station investing that much money doesnt want other stations putting out content that distracts viewers away from them. Other than that though, I dont think there would be any issues with having Olympic logo in a random movie. I really doubt the management of the Olympics cares about use of Olympic logo in a movie like Unbroken.

A million? HOW? I mean seriously what kind of Bialystock and Bloom scammery did they pull off here? Because seriously this movie looks like something that a first year film student could make with borrowed cameras and Adobe Premiere... and I say this as someone who was recently been a first year film student and could see pulling this exact movie off on no money with Premiere for my first year project!

reply

lol.the movie really looked like a million dollar movie project.an expencive pile of *beep*

reply

Give me 5 bucks and i will have done a better acting, editing, script, ghost, guy jerking off chatroulette and all by myself.

reply

Well, seeing as $5 is generally easy to come by, what's stopping you here? Get yourself set up and make your movie, then upload it to either YouTube or Vimeo and copy/paste the link onto this thread so we can all see what you can accomplish with such limited resources. I'm waiting...

reply

You know it's was an exaggerated comment and close to the sarcastic behavior. What shock me the most is that people cannot realize that creativity is one cruciale thing in a B movie. When creativity is not considered and replaced by cliché and copy/paste hollywodd things, the target audience will go with it,uneducated people in cinematography. So the film will sink to the forgotten land. The script was horribly writted and i don't really know the past works of the actors but it's was in general bad performances in that movie. Get over it, i can film, edit, and act properly for nothing but you gonna say to me '' people have to be paid''. So one way or the other people are gonna get paid but it's not deserving more recognition than a mediocre movie. I can cleary see a good idea but man that was poorly realised. I was not even able to read messages and facials expression was not visible. I haven't post my past works on media cause for me it's not that good anymore, i've done major of short film and acting 5 years ago and i a was 17 years old so meeeh..

You can check this youtube account even if it's not mine i was in some videos. These videos are for fun and was more targeted to our circle of friends. Have fun. Ps: it's in french.

Um... Well great for you being in your freind's youtube video. The movie isn't supposed to be Oscar worthy, it was fine, nothing great. The acting was okay too, not bad at all. I've seen far worse acting.

reply

If it cost $20 they must have spent $18 on lunch for the crew.

reply

goood one hehe

Excuse me--ya'll lookin' for a dead body??

reply

Holy crap.. your literal response proves you're a retard.

reply

What are you 12?

reply

Who are you talking about?

reply

"Give me 5 bucks and I WOULD HAVE DONE..."

Hopefully your script would be nothing like your comment...

reply

Sorry '' give me 5$ bucks and i will do'' . I speak french and i'm trying my best with my english . Despite this, the film would have been better with grammatical errors.

reply

It does look very cheap.

It's that man again!!

reply

One million seems fair enough for this kind of film.

Go to: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3713166/fullcredits#cast

How many names are there? All those people need to get paid, you know?

Man, even some actors receive 20 or 30 millions per film.....

reply

Yep almost 100 names. Looking through all those names is a good way to get an idea of all the different types of effort go into even a simple movie like this. It might seem like this is a movie that you could make on your own at home with some screenshotting software, but I guarantee that this movie was way more complicated to make than it looks.
