I actually bought this movie

Maybe I'm just easily entertained but I really enjoyed it. I bought it awhile back and just now watched it again and both times my eyes were glued to the tv. Just thought I'd post something positive since everyone's hating on it ;)

I loved it too. It was actually something different for once, instead of the same old movies centered on a creepy little kid, or people running around with a shaky camera. At least it wasn't a sh*tty remake either. I'm so sick of those.

In fairness, I think the concept was a good one and this was definitely not the worst horror film I have seen. I think where they went wrong was perhaps making all the 'victims' in their own way pretty horrible and therefore you don't end up having much sympathy for them when they do end up dying.

Firstly you have Adam, who drugged a girl and had sex with her and subsequently pushed her into having an abortion when she fell pregnant. He also slept with his best friend's girlfriend and took photos which showed that he was pretty proud of himself and not in the least bit sorry for what he had done. He also defaced the grave of Laura.

Then you have Val who Laura reached out to and she subsequently tells a girl who is obviously distressed and going through a rough time to 'kill herself'.

Mitch on the surface you think is okay but then you learn that he is the one responsible for posting the video online in the first place and therefore played a big part in Laura's death.

On to Blaire who again, on the surface you think is okay but then we learn she slept with her boyfriend's best friend a couple of times. She crashed Jess's mother's car whilst drunk and didn't own up to it but worst of all, she was the one who took the video of Laura which ended up online thanks to her boyfriend. That's not all though, the other people in the group didn't really know Laura all that well but Blaire did and she mentions in a private chat to Mitch when he agrees with Ken's statements about Laura being a bully that Laura had 'family issues'. After digging around online apparently those issues were down to Laura being sexually abused as a child, Blaire was the only one that knew this but she still joined in with the abuse and such which makes her the worst of them all in my eyes.

Ken and Jess I would say are the best of the bad bunch in terms of not doing anything really, really horrible. Jess spread that rumour about Blaire having an eating disorder and she might have slept around a bit but fine, that happens. We don't learn much about Ken but only get that comment he made about Laura deserving what she got which is a pretty nasty thing to say about someone considering they committed suicide but I appreciate the fact that Laura I don't think was particularly nice at times.

If the 'victims' were on the whole decent people who had made a horrible mistake perhaps because they were drunk themselves and weren't thinking clearly at the time when they posted the video, when they sobered up they tried to take it down and stop people from sharing it and such I think it would have been a far better film.

As it is, I was actually cheering on Ghost Laura as time went on!
