Part missing?

Did anyone feel like this movie had a large chunk missing from the time they play the black hymn to the time Medina kills that demon with the axe? I feel like we could have had more build up with realizing the demons were released. The movie was only 1hour and 23 minutes anyway. They could have spent 7 more minutes on building tension.
