Why did those two nerds need to be killed off? I thought they were likeable characters and they die a meaningless death. It's like they needed some more body count so they just put those two. Why give them so much screen time and make them main characters so they can die like random horror victims? The other characters don't even think much of it. Hell, they have no idea what even happened to Dion.

As for the other one....did anyone else think the cultists had very little screen time? I think they needed more scenes to flesh them out, I forgot they were even a part of the movie at one point.

Yeah I agree, they could have left out the cultist and it wouldn´t make much of a difference.
And the Nerds were actually more likable than Zakk. It would have liked to see them survive.

That was an unusual decision - to have two characters who made it that far, just randomly walk off during the pivotal scene. At least let them die fighting the occult girl or her sidekicks rather than generic demons.

Indeed, I have no idea what they were going for with that. It's like the director wanted to kill off those characters but couldn't think of a good way to od it. Or more bodycount, like I said before.

I didn't like that Brodie killed his cousin. Look I get he was an ass but it changed my opinion of his character.

I thought that was one the funniest scenes in the movie. It surprised me too, and it was awesome.

He tried to summon the devil to take revenge on his cousin and u think killing him was out of character?

I agree with both statements. I liked Dion and Giles better than Zach, but it seemed from the director's perspective they were two annoying characters that needed to be killed off? And yeah, those occultists had no substance or background. Where did that girl even come from? We had not seen her before and suddenly, out of the blue, she becomes the leader.

She introduced earlier in the scene where Aeoth gets his lackeys to correct their mistake with the decapitation. She picks her head up from under the desk, he pushes her back down and we hear a gagging sound.

The scene is referenced when she kills him and says "Now who's gagging?"

Usually the funny dorky friend survives. So it's surprising they killed them off.

You are completely right.

Both points are very valid.

The killing of the nerds made me feel like they were just trying to rip off evil dead too much.

The evil cult people were in it way too little. You could delete the cult people scenez oit of the movie and it would make no difference.
