LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!!

We all weren't cotton picking negroes. Bessie wasn't afraid of anything, around 6' 280, wasn't all it was cracked up to be, now and then. But she made it work. Queen Latifah deserves an Emmy, Oscar, and BET Award. I believed her character portrayal as if I were there. When you come from where she's from at that time, finesse was never in her vocabulary. It would have been unbelievable if she wasn't tough.
Bessie.....best movie this summer.....hands down!

Queen Latifah blew me away; I had no idea she could be such a dynamo.

I've only seen her in a couple of light comedies and she seemed much more at home here and much more in control of the character. She simply seemed to become the character.

Queen Latifah is amazingly talented. Chicago, Hairspray, and now Bessie.
