Burn The House Down!

Why in the name of God did he not bring a zippo to that place.

reply

He did bring a lighter. He mentioned burning the place down but he decided not to after Carter told him the tape with his identity is in a safe place underwater where fire could not get to it.

If the assassin had burned down the house, the fire would have signaled emergency services to the location before he could retrieve the tape. That's my guess.

It's amazing how many people whine about things that get explained in the movie.

If they would stop watching their phone and actually watch the movie, all their questions would be answered.

Like 'trowaa0' said, he did have a zippo and he almost did burn the house and take the risk of the tape being found but instead he took Carter cellphone and called his wife for better leverage.

You must have missed the part where the assassin said that first responders would be a half hour away. Enough time for him to take care of his business and be gone.

Even assuming that it would actually take them half an hour - which isn't certain by any means - how does he know how long it will take until he can safely enter the house again, if at all? How does he know he will even be able to reach wherever the film is hidden? Once he puts the house on fire the whole thing leaves his control and he can only hope things go his way.

Good call TR. I got about 20 minutes in when I came to the same realization.

I thought the same almost instantly, had there not have been a picture of him in the toilet tank submerged in the water that would be option A by far, smash a bottle of liquor on the stairs and wait outside to pick em off when they have no choice, but to bail.

I give them credit for weaving the tank plotline into the film or else I wouldn't have made it through out of frustration of the obvious. I've seen tons of films where they avoid the obvious and it gets annoying fast.
