She is on the house with her daughter and it is nightime. Her husband calls to say he will be a few hours late and will get something to eat and the sun is brightly shining.

Khan. When she reaches inside her son's casket to retrieve his favorite stuffed animal, she pulls his hand with the animal. His decomposition is all over it. Later, his sister finds it and there is nothing on it not to mention the smell would have been unbearable. Then the mom washes it. Nothing would have cleaned that.

I thought that finding the tiger clean and in good condition was part of the supernatural events that made the matter so strange.
The fact that this IS a supernatural situation, would well explain the fact that the tiger was suddenly like new.
She washed it anyway, because she know that it had her sons "death" attached to it.
The daughter would noy have been likely to get near the thing if she would have found it foul and smelly like it was when it was removed from the coffin.
Bottom line, I think it was intended that it mysteriously was clean and the daughter found it, not knowing that it had been in much worse shape previously.

That makes great sense

I thought it was quite weird that after noticing all the plants are dying, the next night in the shot they are green and lively. Oops.

The burning of all things olly didn't make any sense. .. it just helped him possess his sister...

We have monsoons where I live, and they're preceded by strong winds; I thought *maybe* she'd worry about the house going up in flames/think to put the fire out before going to bed.

I was taken aback when Piki was lighting a match to put an end to the haunting and gets distracted by the sound of her daughters voice calling her. If it were me, I would have struck the match even if Natalia Vodianova was calling me.

Smoke me a kipper. I'll be back for breakfast

Burning the boy's possessions didn't make a bit of difference to the plot anyway.

Yeah, that was one of the more annoying things in the movie.

Piki was pretty much the voice of reason throughout the movie (even though she did tell Maria about the door and set the whole thing in motion) and then all of a sudden she gets incredibly stupid.

She knows her daughter is dead. She knows Oliver is haunting his family and the house. She's specifically burning everything of his to try and break his connection to the living world. Then she hears her daughter's voice and decides to investigate, even though she should know nothing good could come of it.
