accents
It was billed as an 'epic' but I thought I was watching Coronation Street with all those Mancunian accents.

shareI felt I was watching a biblical version of Shameless.

Its that man again!!
Would you be complaining if the accents were from whatever part of the country YOU come from?
shareYES I WOULD!!! Actors are trained in RP and they should use it in productions such as this.
shareI'd rather listen to a regional accent than have a bunch of Mr Cholmondley Warner's trying to pass themselves off as horny-handed sons of toil.
Thank god RP in but a distant and rather dull memory.
Firstly, I wasn't complaining, just making an observation.
Secondly, if they were speaking with accents from where I'm from I'd say Eastenders instead of Shameless. Anyway, I said Shameless because of the David Threlfall connection as well.
Personally I think Threlfall is rather posh in real life then again I remember him from Paradise Postponed in the Mid 80s when he played the social climbing Tory, Titmuss.
Also I am glad we are having less of the RP acting pronunciation on television.
Its that man again!!
