The all American male gets the pretty American Asian girl

This plot is so overused it's just plain boring. Of course you'd expect nothing less than the Asian girl falling for the broad-shouldered white male. He is the superior specimen after all which is what the American entertainment establishment wants you to believe. Especially when you think about the population of Hong Kong (I know because I live here) that the majority of people are of Chinese decent and many of which have similar background to the female character but for some reason she falls for the white expat. The expat that's lived in Hong Kong for 10 years but can't speak Cantonese and only knows to take her to the typical expat hangout spots. Sadly his shallow depth of Hong Kong culture is the only part that is portrayed correctly. Yaaaawn...Curious to know how many people bought into this media conditioning.
